a heavy heart
holds my feet
the moon already striding ahead

There are few modern haiku I honestly feel are genuinely poetry–this is one. It is an easy form to copy but a difficult one to master–very well done.

I like this one a lot…the idea of being earthbound while the moon goes about it’s merry way.

Leaving loved ones as we go on a journey into the unknown can make your heart feel heavy. But know … they are traveling with you … in your heart. Nice haiku Thot.

I think you caught the feeling at the beginning of a hourney so well – in fact I am surprised you know that feeling too, so respect to you for that. Everything seems fine when underway, but that start…..and yet, you captured it in such a strong way, that moon striding ahead…a line that makes me speechless in its symbolism and intensity.
