As large as a truth

we build bigger
so we can feel smaller –
somehow the small are not accountable
for their smallness, benevolence
is the burden of the unsmall – our gods
are big, straddling skies and
holding up universes,
anything as large as a truth
is more than we are
obliged to bear: lies, on the
other hand, are weightless.

  1. Ah, this makes me think of the modern gods that we worship and pay heed to in hope that they will carry the weight of benevolence. Perhaps that is where the contradiction lies — these big/unsmall gods are a byproduct of our own tenacity for the game of truths and lies. Very interesting — the symbols and the thoughts make for a thought-provoking read. 🙂

  2. The large are responsible for benevolence, the caretakers, the movers and shakerd. The small are unaccountable. The relationship of a god to his followers reflected in the edifice. Very cool! I went dark with mine.

  3. Lies seem to feather too many nests these days. It is getting harder to know and find truth. Love your take on the image.

  4. Your opening lines offer an intriguing paradox. I can relate to the dichotomy: large and small, truth and lies. A very interesting reading of the artwork.

  5. Interesting concepts, truths or suppositions, small doesn’t matter, largeness, i.e. in small, must look up to the larger still gods for their directions. A fun read and think piece, thank you.
