The Discontent of Adhesion

feel the peeling blue paper of the sky,
clouds dangling from frayed threads of white,
the discontent of adhesion has undone the morning,
rain drips in a deliberate rhythm from its wounds,
the ground is littered with broken metaphors,
the intrinsic and the implied now unstuck,
life and death are free, decoupled,
one no longer leads to the other,
eternity in bent arcs is turning inwards,
turning into itself,
in the widening space neither light nor dark,
shadows and forms play with shuffled decks,
and the past we were creating with every new breath,
is spinning, disconnected, in that curdled void.

This is absolutely incredible a close❤️ So well done!

  2. I love those opening lines and the image of the sky coming apart at the seams! And that line ‘the discontent of adhesion has undone the morning’ is a stunner!
I also like: ‘the ground is littered with broken metaphors’. Everything is disjointed and out of sync: ‘shadows and forms play with shuffled decks’ – chilling!
