Where thoughts go to Die

And when dismissed,
these thoughts,
i think,
just march outside
to moonlit fields:
alphabet shaped soldiers
in careful lines,
waiting for
one last command.
A full stop gleams
like a coin tossed,
teetering on its side,
afraid to fall-
lest someone
would die
or live.

Or maybe there are
rotting landfills,
where departed thoughts lie-
caught in
other people’s sentences,
mixing metaphors
and tense.
So somewhere in a
public dump,
the sky is ochre,
and we are dancing inverted,
to the rhythm
of dusty trains,
screaming across
the pink emptiness.

  1. Very interesting to contemplate just where our thoughts go..creative thinking here. I like thinking that our departed thoughts may end up in others’ sentences!
