Catch

I saw the little girl,
sitting by the sea;
“Lost?” I asked her,
she smiled at me.

“Playing catch,” she said,
so I turned to the beach;
searching for footprints,
the waves couldn’t reach.

“No,” she pointed,
“see that giant stone;
I sent him a thought,
he looked so alone.”

“He hurled it right back,
so I built it a wing,
and before we knew it
we had a game in full swing.”
